Our Mission The primary mission of COPE-IOWA is to facilitate a community-wide, fact-based dialogue about the resources, policies and procedures that affect the education of students in the Iowa City Community School District. The group is committed to the engagement of all sectors of the community in this dialogue and is dedicated to the principle that every student in the district should have an equally excellent educational opportunity regardless of his or her street address. The Priority The group’s most urgent priority at the present time is to inform itself and express its views about the growing disparity in curriculum and socioeconomic parameters between the two comprehensive high schools in the ICCSD.
As a service to the community, COPE-IOWA will archive selected emails, letters, spreadsheets, newspaper articles and other documents that are relevant to its priorities on this website.
